You Decide: TSA Full Body Scanners?

Airport Scan
I'm not going to start this blog post by trying to instill fear in you. You get enough of that everyday from just about every source of information you come in contact with. Instead I'm just going to give you the information I've found and then ask you to simply decide for yourself. ***Please note this article is intended to share the information I found about the safety of the full body scan. It is in no way intended to argue for or against the topic of these machines invading our privacy

NEW Egg Muffin Recipe

Egg Scared

Eggs are one of my favorite meals and snacks so I'm always looking for new ways to spruce them up a bit. When I found this idea online I just had to try it and now that I have I wanted to share it with you all too. Actually I literally drove to my grocery store to buy a muffin pan because I didn't have one. LOL.

My favorite egg snack still remains deviled eggs with hummus and hot sauce but this is definitely coming in 2nd place but 1st place when it comes to ease and speed. The recipe I originally found made these little egg pucks into egg muffin sandwiches but they also work great alone. Whatever works best for you.

Here it is...

How to Get Over the Number on the SCALE

NOTE: This blog goes out to all the ladies because I think you're being targeted more then the fella's. This blog as isn't going to be about your weight and the dozens of reasons it's fluctuating. We could talk about water weight, muscle weight, periods (okay I really can't talk about that), excess sodium, your diet fluctuations or many other topics but the real solution to this obstacle  is in our minds so it's only appropriate we start there.

I'M SORRY LADIES but it seems as though you're the target of every marketer. I can't even check-out in a grocery line without seeing magazine covers everywhere trying to grab my attention. Most covers clad with fitness models implying the message of "you should but don't look as good as me" and the others with celebrity bodies and "the one trick they did to get into amazing shape," as if it was really that easy.

21 Day Fix Review: Week 1

I thought I'd write to you about how the FIRST WEEK of my 21 Day Fix program is going.

What?
If you don't already know what the 21 Day Fix program is head over to my SHOP page and in the programs section you'll find a quick video on it. It's not my intention to describe the entire thing here, sorry.

Why?
Why am I doing the Fix? For many people the Fix is a weight loss program. I did it for many reasons none of which was weight loss.

Choice. How About a Trade Instead?

I get really aggravated when people say "I have to" or "I had to." Pardon my french but NO you f****** didn't. You had a choice. You probably just made the wrong one.

Most often I get aggravated because the topic is generally geared towards nutrition.

"Well, it was someone's birthday in the office and they brought in cake so I had to eat a piece." Really? No, that was your choice; no one forced you.

Bouldering Mini-Wall

I wanted to share my latest project with you all...

If you know me I'm a huge fan of fitness toys and gadgets and ever since I was a kid I always wanted a rock climbing wall in my house. In my DREAM version it was an entire wall with multiple slants and craziness but seeing as I live in a studio apartment in LA I'm going to have to compromise.

I Need to Drink More Water

I need to drink more water each day. I know it. You probably know it too. Why is drinking 'enough' water each day so hard???

For most people it's a mixture between just forgetting to and not wanting to make a hundred trips back and forth to the bathroom.

Which Program is Right for Me?

A question I get all the time. "Which program is right for me?" My answer is always the same, "what are your goals?" With that in mind I've decided to simplify the program library and let you know which programs I believe are right for YOUR goals.*
*Please note: Time, trainer personalty and money aren't the factors I'm considering here, primarily goals. Any workout program and healthy diet will get you results, I think these specific ones will get you there faster.

If you want...

... the COMPLETE fitness package.
Looking good is great but over health will keep you from aging. This one mixes just about every aspect of fitness out there including yoga, weight training, plyometrics, kick boxing and more. There's nothing you won't be able to do after this program. GET IT

...to LOOK GOOD.

Are Labels Affecting You?

I was watching the movie The Flight of the Phoenix (2004) the other day and one of the characters said something I'll never forget. He said, "Religion divides people. Belief in something (referring to spirituality) unites them."

Now this isn't a blog about religion or spirituality but that statement got me thinking to how often 'labels' divide us. Think about politics, sexual preferences, food choices, job titles, diseases and the list goes on. We meet someone and right away we begin forming opinions based on these labels. Why do we put ourselves in these little "boxes" as my friend Derek would say?

It's these boxes that end up dividing people. Isn't it more important to unite people?

Fast, Easy and Cheap Way To Whiten Your Teeth

I've read about this before and kept it in the back of my mind as something I would do when I remembered. Time passed and I forgot until a friend of mine posted that she tried this same thing with good results.  Well I had 5 minutes to spare so I figured why not try it?!?

Day01 Results - Monday

Day02 Results - Tuesday

So what's the secret??? Here it is... using Activated Charcoal to whiten your teeth.

Simple 10 Minute Meal(s)

Chicken, Zucchini, Kale, Green Tea

Trust me I am no cook... I don't mind cooking and on many occasions even enjoy it but I only enjoy it when I'm cooking for someone else.  If it's just me, I've often been known to skip the meal instead of taking 10 minutes out to create something.  That being said, for the times that I do get off my lazy boo-tay this is typically what I create.

It's nothing special but it's cheap, quick, healthy and I always feel great after the meal.  I can save a lot of time by chopping up my food all while the stove and oil is being heated up.

To Do:
- Turn stove on and begin to heat pans and oil
- Take out veggies, meat, etc and begin chopping (Smaller pieces cook faster and also save time later dealing with a fork and knife).
- If steaming add foods to steamer.
- Add rest of food to pan and cook.

- Don't forget to add spices for flavor.

Fun Tip: Steaming, or so I've heard, takes out some of the nutrients during the process and leaves them in the water below.  I have no idea if there's any scientific proof to this or if it's even enough to matter but to combat this effect I simply use that water to make green tea!  The water is already hot so all I have to do is pour it into a glass and add the tea bag, viola!

That's it.  I always keep some kinda of veggies and meat around for a meal or even a quick snack.

Happy cooking!

Getting & Maintaining a 6 Pack

If you're here I want to say congratulations because you already know 95% of the information you need to know in order to get a 6 pack.  Why do I say that? Because as much as we all don't want to hear it, a 6 pack is not a " I don't know how to get it "thing, it is a " I'm not willing to do what it takes " thing; AND for some it may also be a " It's going to take some time " thing.

Let's clear the air here.  I'm not here to sell you any fat burning crap pills, newly discovered exercise equipment, cheap DVD's or systems that don't work.  BUT Jimmie you're an Independent Beachbody coach don't you promote DVD's and nutrition systems? YES I DO. But these things aren't required to get 6 pack abs or the results you want. They're merely tools to help make life a little easier and FOR ME that's exactly WHAT I NEEDED.

So this is my gift to you, 3 simple rules I've learned over the past 2 years from experience and programs that have helped me get AND maintain my 6 pack.

1.  Count backwards
"Getting Abs" in my opinion is a bad statement, more correctly we should be saying "Seeing Abs." You already have abs but they're covered in belly fat. If you want to see them you need to remove body fat. Counting calories, tracking macros, fasting and dieting are all methods to get there but I've found they're all a pain in the ass and it's a hard method to sustain unless you're in some form of body building.

For me I count FATS, SUGARS and SODIUM. The idea here is to play these three categories like a game of golf, the lower your score the better.

Ohhh and another huge 6 pack killer is ALCOHOL. Have you been on my Facebook page, do you know me? You could make the argument that I drink and it doesn't seem to effect me. Well... I got the results first. It's easier to maintain a 6 pack rather then get one but believe me the first thing I cut out when I really want my abs to pop is alcohol.

2.  Sticking to what makes the biggest change
This is where I see people making the biggest mistakes. The truth is that some activities have a greater impact on a 6 pack then others. So isn't it reasonable to attack those activities with full force first? You wouldn't play $5 blackjack if you wanted to become a millionaire, you'd go to the high stakes tables.

NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) says.. "70% of your daily caloric burn comes from your RMR or Resting Metabolic Rate... and 20% comes from your workouts."

What does this mean? Well it means you need to keep working out but you can make much larger strides towards your goals if you can amp up what your RMR is burning. Body size, body composition and food intake are some of the factors of RMR that are changeable. This also why it seems that skinny people stay skinny and fat people stay fat.

So, if you want to see your abs, build the muscle required to change your RMR. Muscle is your best friend and fats worst enemy, so build it. Get done the work that needs to be done first, then work on the finer details.

3.  Fast or Sloww AND everything is not always in moderation
Would you like results fast or sloww? The majority of people will say "I want fast results" but are you really willing to do what's necessary to get them? Most people aren't so they chose the sloww route but there's one thing you need to understand, slow is sloww.  It could be the difference between 3 weeks (like me) or 6 months.

In my opinion this is not an everything in moderation situation.  Getting results is much easier being consistent with good habits rather then trying to space out 'cheat meals' throughout the week. Do the required work for longer periods of time, get the results and then you can go back to 'everything in moderation.'

Find a partner, find a trainer, get motivated and do what's necessary to get the results you want. Sure that month or two may be hell but once you're there it'll be much easier to maintain and keep!

Conclusion
In my opinion you don't need fancy meal plans or insane workout plans but you do need to work hard. Lift weights and eat single ingredient clean foods (if you have to ask if they're clean or not they're NOT) and you will be on your way.

AND if you're like me and need more help and a system to follow, then find the time and money to spend on one that will get you there. The results you get will more then pay themselves off.

Salad Master Review

Have you hosted one of these things before? If not and you don't know anything about this like I did, let me describe it to ya.

A representative from Salad Master will come to your home and cook a meal for you and up to 8 friends for free. They'll teach you some secrets about cooking and put on a nice presentation for you. Of course all of this is leading up to their sales pitch at the end but regardless it's a really neat presentation.

The Lesson
As far as the presentation it's really quite educational. Here's some of the facts I learned...
*please note this is what I was taught from them.  I haven't done any research or checked the validity of these 'facts.'

1. Cooking above 200 degrees begins to degrade vegtables of their natural minerals and nutrients.  Try to cook them between 160-180 degrees.

2. Most of the nutrients and minerals in fruits and veggies is in the first 1/8 inches layer of the skin.  Stop peeling these things.

3. Broccoli, cabbage, etc don't discard the stalks of these items.  That's where the enzymes to help you break down the vegetable lie. Make sure to add them into your meal.

The Pitch
Now about their sales pitch.  Pretty much everything about their presentation is leading you up to buying their products. What they're trying to sell you is their cookware and let me tell you this stuff is not cheap, to put it mildly.  A 5-7 piece set is going to cost you a couple grand... holy crap!

The selling point is that their products are made of medical grade stainless steal which is a non-porous metal which keeps you from using little or no oils and water to cook with.  Clean up is also easy because there isn't much to stick to and heat distribution is even also allowing for much lower cooking temperatures. There is also a lifetime warranty on the products which can also be passed down to your family members over time.

There are some other nice features to this cookware but I'll leave that for you to discover by finding a rep in your area and having them put on a show for you.

Conclusion
I'm on the fence here. The price is a bit ridiculous but if I look at it from a shear material standpoint I don't know how much medical grade stainless steal costs. I like the fact that these things have a lifetime warranty and some reviews I found online many people keep these things 20+ years.  It would be nice to know that you have the whole cookware problem solved for the rest of your life.

The design is good not great but I do love the 'coin' on the top of the lids that lets you know when your food has hit its heat point and it's time to turn down the heat on your stove. But, again I keep coming back to price here... I mean damn!

Being health conscience I can see value in these products. The jury is still out on if your metal cookware is leaching toxins into your food and if it is, is it really harming you. While I await true scientific evidence of that this option would seem to safe guard me from any harm.

Looking at the big picture here your cookware is a piece of the entire 'health pie.' It's definitely not an end all like they try to make it sound. Let's be serious working out and eating clean will get you much further and closer to overall health then some pots and pans ever will but this is definitely a step in the right direction.

What are your thoughts?  Have you ever bought any of these products?

Success: Are You Ready?

Are you ready for the success you want?  That's my question to you.

Maybe you want to win the lottery,  maybe you want a job promotion, or maybe you want your business to suddenly explode with prosperity. Whatever and however you define 'success' in your own life my question to you is Are You Ready?

This topic has been poking it's head up at random times over the past few months in my life so I've decided to try and grab it.

A recent example I can't seem to shake from my mind was some friends of mine on Facebook wanting to win the lottery. How great it would be, all they could do with their winnings to improve their lives and the lives of others.

I'd argue that with success (in this case money) comes a lot of responsibility that most of us are just not ready for. How often do you hear stories about past winners and how they're now broke. We hear these stories, mock the people and move on with our dreams but the truth is why do we think we're any better or any more prepared for 'success?'

Another example happened to me. One of the aspects of my business is introducing new people to the business and helping them to grow their own business. This in turn helps my business. So at first all I could focus on was bringing new people in but I noticed very quickly something happening, they were dropping off. I had finally achieved the success I wanted but I wasn't actually ready for it. I didn't know what to do with the people once they joined me!

Conclusion
My point is not, if you want success you need to go out and work hard for it. Everyone says that and everyone already knows it. My point is that maybe you're not achieving your success because you're not ready for it. Let's stop blaming the circumstances around us and work on ourselves first.

Brandon Broadwater, a personal development coach at his seminars has the audience chant, "I'm bigger then my circumstances." At first I thought this was pretty silly. Now I realize all of my success has come from looking within and improving myself and not focusing solely on the world around me.

I challenge you to do the same. If there is an area of your life you want 'success' first look within. Is there anything you can improve first?

Failing to Inform

A recent show of Dr Oz’s inspired me to write this blog and see if I can’t help educate or get people to ‘look at the bigger picture’ to make more informed decisions.

Our brain is hardwired to constantly on high alert for anything that is potentially dangerous to our existence. Hence, when you watch the news most every story is about crime, poverty, or any other potentially dangerous threat to us. Why? Because it keeps the attention of our brains and we are almost forced to continue to watch.

Do you worry about terrorism? 9/11 had us on-guard in or around any airplane or airport looking for any signs of danger right? The sad truth is that these ‘dangers’ are a small part of a much larger picture. I wrote a blog a while back about obesity related deaths. Did you know that about 3,000 people were killed during 9/11? But did you also know that 300,000 people are killed every year due to obesity related deaths? That’s like 9/11 happening once every 3.65 days.  I don’t want to debate the importance of keeping our airports secure but looking at these numbers, obesity kills far more people than a terrorist attack.

So when a show as popular and well respected that reaches millions like Dr Oz’s claims that Shakeology Greenberry is unsafe due to it's lead levels it raises some questions in my mind. Am I dealing with a 3000 type of situation or a 300,000 type of situation? While both are important I know that fighting the larger battles is much more conducive to my time then the smaller ones.

So I dug a  little further into this particular example and found this...

Beachbody (makers of Shakeology) in a response to his report said this “…while they seek to inform consumers, they may be actually misleading consumers by not distinguishing between harmful heavy metals and those that are naturally occurring in plants, vegetables and minerals (including naturally occurring lead.”(1)

In another response they say, “A glass of Shakeology has far less lead than a serving of organic spinach or Brussels sprouts, and in fact, you could drink 15 glasses of Shakeology a day and still be under the guidelines established by the FDA and World Health Organization.”(2)

So should we stop eating spinach and Brussels sprouts? Are these not recommended too? I suppose I could go on TV and tell viewers not to work out because working out and lifting weights damages you muscles and tears them apart.  Or I could have an episode saying water in dangerous because at high enough doses you could drown your lungs. The fact is everything is toxic at certain amounts.

Wikipedia says this about lead poisoning “...exposure to lead include contaminated air, water, soil, food, and consumer products. Occupational exposure is a common cause of lead poisoning in adults. According to estimates made by the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), more than 3 million workers in the United States are potentially exposed to lead in the workplace.”(3)

This episode of Dr. Oz is not the first time I've seen a show, a blog, or an article FAIL to ask the most important question of all, “what does this mean in the grand scheme of things for me?” Health and nutrition is not a simple topic. It's not just as easy as this is bad and we should ban all foods that have this in it. Hell if this case look at how many vegetables would be taken off the shelves (see above image).  Can we afford to get rid of all the foods that contain trace element's of lead?

To me this is similar to asking the question, 'am I important?'  Well I think I'm very important but as the universe is concerned, I'm a very small spec (if that) in regards to the larger picture.

Conclusion
This blog is in no way meant to persuade you into buying Shakeology. That’s your decision. I’m also not here to critisize Dr. Oz but instead to make the viewers of these shows ask the fundamental question when these reports come up of, “what does this mean in the grand scheme of things?” "Does what I'm hearing leave any unanswered questions, or are they just trying to keep my attention?"

Also think about what has the greatest affect in your life.  While lifting weights and chewing food both burn calories, if I want to lose weight I'm not going to focus on just chewing my food.

For all the people out there that have influence and a voice to reach others, please take some responsibility in your reporting. Sure maybe 0.01% of something that isn't perfect but that doesn't in any way tell the entire story.  Consider the other 99.9% of it that really is helping people.

Touch Me Not My Phone

SO = Significant Other

I posted this image on my Facebook wall and I asked the questions, "What are your thoughts? Do you allow your significant other access to your phone? Do they know your pass-code etc? If so why or why not?"

It was an interesting conversation because I didn't quite get the debate I thought I would. The majority of people agreed that they locked their phones for anti-theft purposes but that their SO knew the pass-code. They also agreed that there wasn't really ever a reason for them to gain access to their SO's phone. Lastly they agreed that if there was enough suspicion to arouse or warrant that type of action than the relationship never lasted anyways.

Then the conversation turned into what I thought was a more interesting conversation...

Does asking your SO who they're talking/ texting count as snooping? Just as going through their phone without permission count as snooping.

This is where we seemed to get mixed answers.

In my opinion I look at this two ways...

ONE, if you ask them what they're doing on their phone isn't that the same thing? The outcome of snooping without permission and asking is the same; you gain knowledge of what their actions are on their phone. I'm sure the next logical argument would be, "they don't HAVE to tell me, that's the difference, I'm just asking." YEAH RIGHT. Let's be serious, if you ask the question, your SO is almost forced to give up the info because if not they'll definitely be placed under suspicion.

TWO, if you have to ask, then do you really trust them in the first place? I don't believe in 'band-aiding' things in life. What I mean by that is, finding short term solutions to bigger problems. I prefer to dig deep and figure out the reason for the question in the first place so it can be avoided in the future.

Maybe your SO doesn't like the fact that you're not paying attention to them and instead you're on your phone, maybe they really are suspicious of your actions or maybe they're just bored and trying to start a conversation. Regardless of their reasoning you probably made a mistake somewhere before this all happened that you need to look into.

Conclusion
I have seen a number of successful and unsuccessful relationships in my time and the one thing that usually draws the line between the two is COMMUNICATION. If your SO does something that bothers you tell them, regardless if it's their problem or your own. Maybe the two of you can work it out together.

Trust and communication is something earned and worked on. If you find yourself wanting to know what your SO is doing ask yourself why.  If you still can't figure it out, communicate your thoughts with them. Find a solution to this mistrust together so that you can both be more trusting and happy.

Of course to tie this all up into a pretty bow the answer to this question in my opinion is this...

I believe you should not hide your actions on your phone with your SO (minus surprises and such). But, I also believe that there should be enough trust between the two of you that your SO should never go looking or feel the need to be asking.

Life is a Savings Account

Remember when you were a kid and your parents tried teaching you the value in saving money. For some it was a piggy bank and for others is was a full blown savings account. My parents actually did a really good job at teaching me this lesson. When we went to the bank for whatever reason instead of just reviewing their accounts and having me wait in the corner they would have the banker also review my account to see how it was doing. It made me feel a part of the entire process instead of something that only adults do.

Now it's present day and I'm realizing more and more how important the lesson I was learning was and that it doesn't just apply to money. If you've read any of my blog posts you know I love talking about, learning about, and practicing changing habits to achieve long term goals. The more I learn about this subject the more I've come to realize that Life is a Savings Account.

Steven Covey says, "Private victories precede public victories. You can't invert the process anymore than you can harvest a crop before you plant it." To me this means it's the little, seemingly unimportant actions we take everyday that lead to ultimate goals and success. Unfortunately we also grow up around media and brilliant marketing companies who have us believe that we need to make snap decisions in order for success.

We often praise the grand slam hitter in baseball, we fantasize about winning the lottery and we wish we could be in the right spot, for that great opportunity. It's true that the people that this happens to are in the spotlight for a brief moment but what we have to ask ourselves is, where are they now? What kind of longevity do these 'grand' events bring?

Be careful how you save
If small positive habits carried out everyday lead to larger positive outcomes the reverse is true as well. Small bad decisions carried out everyday will lead to large negative outcomes. For example eating a candy bar isn't going to make you fat but, eating one everyday for 10 years will certainly add some weight.

TIP: Garbage in equals garbage out so make sure your daily habits are aligned with your ultimate goals. If they're not, rethink your strategy.

Create multiple Savings Accounts
If you're like me you don't have just one goal. Some of my current goals are to grow my business, maintain my health and read more books. Now I dedicate differing amounts of time to each but for instance I'm not good at sitting still and reading. But the knowledge I gain from reading is invaluable so I know I need to work on it. So I take it in small chunks. I try my best to read for 15-20 min/day which allows me to cover about 15-20 pages/day, therefor I can get through a 300 page book in roughly 15 days. Viola, I'm going through books!

TIP: Imagine for a second if everyday you took 15 minutes to achieve something positive in your life, and did that multiple times a day? Where would you be in 3 months, 6 months or a year? What could you accomplish?

Don't save $10/ week when you can't afford $1
I see people especially in the health & fitness field doing all the time. Inspiration hits like an explosion and they want to get in shape and ripped up. "I can workout and hour a day," "I can eat healthy," and the list goes on. If you're not currently working out or eating right, don't bite off more then you can chew.

TIP: When trying to change a major habit, don't try to change too much too soon. Want to workout for 60 min/day? Start with 15 minutes for 30 days and slowly progress. Let's be serious if you can't handle 15 min/day you'll never make it to 60 minutes.

Then I'll save $20/ week! Still not a good idea
Sometimes good habits, even with good intentions can be overdone. Maybe you accidentally skipped date night with your loved one, so the next day you bought them flowers and took them someplace really special to make up for it. A few months later something comes up again and you repeat this process. How long do you think it's going to take until date night is going to lose it's entire significance?

TIP: It's important to know that in our journey of creating new habits that mistakes and failures will happen and you will fall off course. In this example this couple started out showing each other importance and priority above all else but small changes in plans set them off course.  They tired 'making up' for it by doing more but in doing so something else happened.  A habit was created where their brain said, "it's okay to veer off course because I can always make up for it later," and that attitude is more damaging then anything!

Conclusion
It's time we all wake up and realize there is a formula for SUCCESS and achieving OUR GOALS and it doesn't matter what your goals are.  The formula is simple, small habits made everyday will lead to long term outcomes. Life is a Saving Account, treat it like one.

Sports on TV: I Hate It

I have a confession to make...

Are you sure you're ready for this?

...

I hate sports.

I feel like I'm breaking some kind of time honored tradition or 'guy law' by saying those words but it's the truth. I've just never understood them or cared.  Now let me specify exactly what I don't like.

Specifically I don't like watching sports on TV.  I love going to LIVE sporting events and I love playing sports, but mindlessly yelling at a TV has just never appealed to me.

I just don't get it. I have seen people literally fight with other people while watching sports. What the hell? Do you own some kind of stock or shares in that sports team? Did you at least bet some money on the game that you're getting so infuriated at? If not, why all the craziness?

Oh but it gets even better. Has your team ever won and you feel a sense of pride and then decided to shove that pride in other peoples face because their team lost?  Really? Were you in the game or did you do anything to assist in that victory? I'm actually asking, what role did you pay, I mean play?

It's funny I hear things like "I can't believe that player(s) gets paid so much."  Do you really not know where all that money is coming from?  Let me give you a clue. It's coming from YOU.

Look, I'm not completely clueless to the fact that watching sports provides many people entertainment and I certainly don't want anyone to think that just because these are my feelings that I think they should change theirs; unless you are the crazy who is starting the fights.

Conclusion
I guess my opinion is this, and I truly try my best to live by something I heard a while back from Brendon Burchard the author of The Millionaire Messenger. On my deathbed I hope I'll be thinking about my family, my friends and if I mattered in this world.  I'll most likely want some more time and I don't want to look back knowing that I spent too much time or energy on something that isn't one of those three things.

What do you think? If you're a sports nut what is it exactly that you get from it? I'd like to understand this better.

Psychology and Success: 3 Simple Rules

I had an awesome conversation with some friends of mine the other day which brought up some really cool ideas I wanted to share on how to achieve success more easily.

KEEP OUT:  Negativity and limits
"Don't say I can't, say I presently struggle with" is a quote from Tony Horton in the beginning of one of his popular P90X workouts.  Keep negativity and limits out of everything you say and the world will truly open up for you.  I find whether you want to achieve something or not, it's always best to keep negativity and limits out of your vocabulary.

There's another great quote that says, "It doesn't matter if you think you can or if you think you can't, either way you're right."  Your mind is a sponge, keep garbage out of it and it won't give you garbage.  This isn't always an easy rule to follow, but I promise you it will pay off, and you'll literally see life in an entirely different light.

The 5 minute rule
Have you ever wanted to do something that is counterproductive to your goals?   Of course you have, everyone has!  Try this next time.  Let's say your goal is to lose some weight.  The next time you have that beautiful piece of chocolaty desert sitting in front of you I want you to wait 5 minutes.  At the end of 5 minutes if you still want the cake eat it, if not then don't.  It's that simple.

This rule works in reverse too.  Want to lose weight but don't feel like working out that day.  We've all been there.  Do this, start working out but only commit to 5 minutes.  If at the end of 5 minutes you still don't feel like completing your workout don't, if you do, keep on going!  It doesn't matter what it is just take 5 minutes in the direction of your long term goals and if at the end of that 5 minutes you still feel like going the other way, do it.

This is a great rule for achieving anything in your life and realizing that life isn't made up of snap decisions like all marketing would want us to believe.  Take your time, weigh the pros and cons and only then make a decision.  Sometimes you'll still make a decision that isn't quite inline with your goals but a majority of them will be, and that's the idea.  Goals aren't reached by never failing, they're reached by continually doing better over time.

Would you rather?
Similar to the 5 minute rule but without the time limit.  Instead of setting a time, take the time to think to yourself would I rather.  Would I rather keep losing weight or would I rather eat the desert.  Would I rather keep sleeping in or would I rather get more work done and finish up earlier today.  Compare your actions with your goals and take just a few seconds to think about it.  I don't promise this will be easy but it will be worth it.

After some time you'll  most likely find yourself keeping away from activities which put you in a situation that you even need to ask the question to yourself.  It's much easier to say no to a beer after work if you're not already at the bar surrounded by friends!  :)

Conclusion
Incorporate all or just some of these mental 'games' into your daily decisions and you won't believe how much faster your goals will come.  After sometime you'll begin to notice other people who could also use this advice, please share this with them!

The 21 Day Fix Details

The 21 Day Fix
I wanted to create a program about a year ago that would simply KEEP THINGS SIMPLE.  Simple nutrition and quick workouts.  The idea of small steps everyday leads to huge results has been beaten into my head for the past 2 years, but there didn't seem to be a program that fit that equation.  I didn't have the means, energy or expertise to create such a program which is why I'm so happy Beachbody did!

What's best about this program is it's nutrition system and versatility.  A simple food list and container system is going to control your nutrition, that's it.  It's about portion control here, not limits.   This is maybe the only system which say's, "you want a glass on wine? Okay have it.  But in moderation."

I know my biggest problem is nutrition but at the same time I want my freedom of choice.  Who likes being told what they can't have?   It only makes us want it more.  Check out the video below for some awesome info and people who have changed THEIR lives using this program.

What else do I get?
Have you ever been to the gym with and without a friend or workout partner?  Which one was better?  I guess that's up for all us to decide but here we're all about community and support.  When you decide to join one of our groups I'll be your coach and here to help you out during our journey by answering questions, sharing some tips and even just for general chit chatting.   We're also going to meet some other people doing the exact same thing and form more relationships there.

If you're shy don't worry, you can be as engaging as you want.  Make me your free coach HERE.

I'm ready, where do I go?

I am too but we have some options to consider.  There are 3 options for the 21 Day Fix you're going to want to consider.  First there is what I call the SILVER OPTION.  Chose between either the 21 Day Fix Base kit or the 21 Day Fix Ultimate Kit (details above).   Or decide on the GOLD OPTION which is the 21 Day Fix Base kit above along with a 30 day supply of Shakeology (video HERE).

Why do I call this the Gold option?  Because it works and I truly believe you will get the absolute best results when you combine the program with Shakeology.  I'm not going to give you facts or statistics here, I know you'll do your own research, and YOU SHOULD.  I know it works because I have Shakeology everyday for the past 2 years and I have experienced the results first hand.

Either option is up to you just ask yourself, "Why are you seriously considering this investment?"

EMERALD OPTION(S)
21 Day Fix BASE kit ($59.85)

21 Day Fix ULTIMATE upgrade kit ($59.86)

RUBY OPTION
21 Day Fix BASE kit + Shakeology ($140 Introductory Price, $160 normally)

DIAMOND OPTION

Everything in the Ruby PLUS Coach membership.  Contact me for full details.

Conclusion
Look, there are diet pills, fat burners and other crap out there that claim results but how often do they actually deliver?  There's no secrets here.  We're going to work on portion control, getting you moving and learning how to live a healthier lifestyle that will last you far longer that 21 days.  Oh and BONUS, after you're done, the program is still yours.  Do it as often as you like.  Many of the test group participants have gone on to do this program 10 times for extreme results.

We are all sick of gimmicks and although we may not always like the truth, we know it when we hear it, and this is it.  The only question is, are you ready?

Questions?
If you have any more questions either please contact me directly or I have set up a Facebook group for people wanting to know more.  Check us out here https://www.facebook.com/groups/21DayFixFeb17/
